Trader Code of Conduct
All tradespeople using MyLocalTrade are expected to meet these standards. The code is designed to protect customers and maintain trust in the platform.
Honesty and Accuracy
- Provide accurate and up-to-date business information on your profile
- Do not mislead customers about your services, qualifications or pricing
- Be honest about your qualifications and any relevant trade memberships or certifications
- Keep your insurance information current and accurate where applicable
Professional Conduct
- Respond to customer enquiries professionally and in a timely manner
- Provide clear, written quotes before work begins where possible
- Respect customer privacy — do not use contact details shared through the platform for any purpose other than the enquiry
- Do not pressure customers into agreeing to work or making quick decisions
Quality and Safety
- Complete all work safely and in accordance with relevant regulations and legal requirements
- Ensure appropriate insurance is in place for the work being carried out
- For regulated trades (gas, electrical, etc.), only carry out work you are legally qualified to perform
- Provide invoices, receipts and relevant certification where appropriate
Platform Rules
- Do not post fake reviews or attempt to manipulate the review system
- Cooperate with any platform complaints or checks carried out by MyLocalTrade
- Keep all documents, qualifications and profile information up to date
- Report any platform issues or concerns to MyLocalTrade support
Consequences of Breaching the Code
Traders found to be in breach of this code may have their profile suspended or removed from the platform. MyLocalTrade reserves the right to take action where trader conduct puts customers at risk or damages trust in the platform.
